If you’re ready to take your life back, then you’ve come to the right place.
“You’re only one decision away from having a totally different life.”
And that decision is to take your life back.
Make the most of your time and money, build yourself up and improve the way you see yourself as a person, parent, spouse, etc.
The key things that you need to do to get yourself back on the right track are :
Establish a routine
Take control of your time
Manage your money
Improve your self image
In today’s post, I’m going to talk about #1 and #2. Next week I will publish ‘Part 2’ which will discuss #3 and #4. So stay tuned!!
Part 2 has been published! You can find it HERE!
1. ESTABLISH A ROUTINE
DO TODAY TO HELP YOU TOMORROW
When you do tomorrow’s things today, tomorrow goes a hell of a lot smoother.
A few things you can do to make tomorrow easier are:
do the dishes before bed
pack tomorrow’s lunch
lay out clothes for tomorrow – even if you stay home
gather your things – find your keys, wallet/purse, kids homework
FEEL ACCOMPLISHED EVERY DAY
In order to feel accomplished every day, you need to pay attention to the things that you achieve each day.
Get a notebook and write down everything you’ve achieved today. Every time you check something off your to-do list or every time you do something helpful or beneficial, WRITE IT DOWN!
Even the small things matter!
START SMALL AND WORK YOUR WAY UP
Examples of small accomplishments :
Unloaded the dishwasher
Kept the kids alive
“I actually cooked lunch today”
Examples of bigger accomplishments :
Washed, dryed & folded a load of laundry
Went grocery shopping and put all of the groceries away
Checked something off my to-do list that has needed done for months!
2. TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR TIME
“Don’t be busy. Be productive.”
Have you ever noticed that you feel SO much better when you get a lot of things done?
Stop multi-tasking and make a to-do list. Get a planner and write everything down.
KEEP TRACK OF CERTAIN DAYS AND EVENTS.
ie: “October 21st – buy snacks for Halloween party” “October 25th – Halloween Party @ Sally Sue’s House 6pm”
WRITE OTHER THINGS WITHOUT DUE DATES ON YOUR DAYS OFF.
ie : “I need to clean the garage” – “I don’t have anything going on Monday the 12th, I can start working on this then” & then WRITE IT DOWN.
CHECK YOUR CALENDAR/PLANNER EVERY NIGHT BEFORE BED.
Make sure you know what’s going on tomorrow so you’re not caught off guard and rushing around.
WAKE UP EARLIER
If you need to do something that will take time and you can’t do it while your kids are hanging on your limbs – dedicate one or two days a week and wake up before them so you can get it done.
I do this for my blog. I know that I can’t sit at my computer for hours every day while my daughter is running around like a mad woman, so I get up with my husband for work during the week so I can get shit done.
Some of the most productive people get things done before the sun rises. Do you know why that is?
Probably because they didn’t have kids crying for juice or fighting with their siblings.
They had a calm, quiet (& very productive) morning.
A few things you could get done while your kiddos are still in bed are :
